Mr. Fix It!

Scott, the Do-it-himselfer, has been very busy. I wouldn't say he has thoroughly enjoyed the process, but he has certainly learned a lot along the way and has made me proud!

Here are 'some' pics of our updates. The kitchen isn't fully done yet and probably won't be until later this summer, upon Scott's return but I thought I would at least give you a glimpse into all of Scott's hard work in the dining room.
Here are the before pics. Notice the tacky glass chandelier, red paint, and window treatments or lack thereof?

AFTER: Gone are the popcorn ceilings, up is the beautiful chandelier. We've painted the ceiling, the door and the walls, added window treatments, new blinds and beautiful floors! Check out the beautifully stained trim too! woo hoo!

We still need to find some grown up dining room furniture pieces to complete the look, but for now, we're happy with the new and improved room! We're ready for our guests tomorrow!

You guys have done a wonderful job. I am sure you will need a little rest now before Scott leaves. The light fixture is perfect.

WOW! I've been in the "old" dining room and I thought it looked pretty good already. But WOW! What a great job. Can't wait to see it in one more sleep. Can I say how freakin' excited Cameron is? He is bringing and extra pull-up for Zach because he remembers that Z borrowed one when you guys were here last time and he thinks he might need another one. Boys...

Christy! I hope you did not throw away that old glass chandelier, because I want it! Um, just kidding! Wow, I can't believe the difference. It looks incredible. I wish the AF would hire you to design/decorate base houses.

Love it! What a great job! I wish I could have stained trim in my house, but alas, our builder only put in paint-grade stuff, so white trim it is. My chandelier is almost the same as yours, minus a couple of your curlicues - same glass shades and everything. Now if only I could deal with the new light fixtures, blinds, curtain rods and cans of paint that are stacked up around MY house. Ah well, slowly but surely it will get done...
