Being a mom is tough....but I couldn't imagine my life without my boys

My last blog entry would suggest that parenting sucks....and it can. Admittedly there are bad days as a parent, but there are also plenty of good ones to make up for the seemingly "worst" days ever! The difference is: no money can buy this kind of happiness. You have to look for the every day victories and find the rewards in a more inwardly way. Unlike the military, we moms don't get ribbons and medals to wear on our chests; a new rank to boast about; a pay raise to celebrate with; or certificates of achievement to hang proudly on our walls. We instead watch our children grow up to be productive, responsible, polite human beings. We can only take pride in that; knowing we played a role in their upbringing.

So Happy Mothers' Day to all those moms who put your kids first; who lose sleep at night caring for a sick child; who work on home work; who help with school projects; who volunteer at their child's school; who taxi their children to their extra curriculars; who put themselves last; who host play dates for entertainment; who endure Chutes and Ladders time and again; who pay for expensive costumes for plays and recitals; who encourage and pay for musical instrument lessons; etc. etc, etc. Your hard work is paying off!

Wow, I couldn't of said it better, and it is sooo true that no matter what you are going to have bad days as a parent, but don't let it bring the next one down, a new day a new attitude.
Thanks,
Shannon
