Honey, I'm home!

Got a phone call late last night (and yes you can laugh, because it was around 9 pm which to me is like midnight compared to the rest of you night owls). The caller ID read: Tinker AFB. My heart DROPPED. I was fearing it was every military spouse's worst fear ~ THE call. I hesitated for a moment and then answered. To my pleasure I hear "honey I'm home....sort of".

Scott's crew was re-routed to OKC for the next few days. YAY! The downfall, he's on alert and can't come home, but we CAN go and see him ..... and yes, that's exactly what we did! So off we went to spend time with him at the "hooch" aka Alert Facility. The cool thing is, it's pretty much a barracks with a large common room equipped for hosting families! So the boys had a blast playing with new toys, the pool table, the books, tv and movie theatre all the while meeting new Navy Brats. Fun had by all. We'll be off to see him again tomorrow, the next day, then the next.....lol!!!

Here he is in the flesh ~ my beloved! Welcome home hun! We've missed you!

Yay! Gotta love it when they come "home" earlier than you expect. Karl's gone off to do actual soldier stuff this week, so I'm in your boat. Not that I like having him gone, but at least I get to have the remote all to myself. Gotta look on the bright side :)
